POSITION SUMMARY: Develops and manages loan accounts which meet established lending requirements and which maximize profitability while minimizing risk.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Interviews loan applicants, collects, analyzes financial and related data to determine general credit worthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request.
2. Establishes and negotiates terms under which credit will be extended, including costs, repayment method and schedule and collateral requirements.
3. Collects and analyzes information which reflects current credit worthiness of customers and current merits of existing loans, grading portfolio appropriately.
4. Prepares appropriate Loan information offerings subsequent to Credit Analyst review for Senior Credit Committee and/or Board review.
5. Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect from past due accounts.
6. Adhere to customer service standards to ensure that inquiries are handled in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
7. Develops new business by contacting prospects and customers and participates in the officer call program.
8. Serves on Senior Credit Committee making preliminary evaluations of loan requests.
9. Participates in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews new developments in lending and changing government regulations, ensuring that the staff is kept informed.
2. Reviews customer and non-customer checks and other DDA matters for approval when questions arise.
3. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
4. Attend staff meetings to ensure that communication is facilitated.
5. Performs Job Duties in Accordance with all appropriate laws and regulations to include BSA.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to speak English and hear. The employee spends the majority of the day sitting at a desk (95%). Occasionally the employee would be required to stand and walk (5%).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. College education is preferred. Appropriate areas include (but are not limited to) business, finance or marketing.
2. Several years’ experience in lending functions (bank preferred) is necessary.
3. Other bank experience is preferred.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
5. Ability to use office equipment including (but not limited to) calculator, computer, etc.
