Description
Conducts informative, engaging and accurate guided tours of collection and exhibits, with a goal of delivering a high-quality guest experience. Additional responsibilities are to greet visitors; staff the front desk; occasionally assist with ticketing and visitor flow; field inquiries from visitors; and varied administrative tasks. Requires ability to work evenings and some holidays. Two weeks of paid Museum and Collection training are provided.
Consistently greet and speak to guests in a positive, courteous and professional manner.
- Provide accurate information about the Museum, including its collection, fees, hours of operation, events and programs, directions, exhibits and general policies.
- Explain and promote the value of memberships.
- Provide excellent visitor guidance and customer service at all times.
- Uphold Museum policies and explain them clearly and patiently to visitors as necessary.
- Assist as requested with special events, tours, operations, special projects and additional assignments.
- Adhere to all policies and directives related to safety and security of guests, co-workers and the Museum collection, reporting all areas of concern immediately to management.
- Maintain a professional and tidy work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hourly rate of pay $15/hr, Part time Museum Guides are normally scheduled up to 29 hours per week with evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Guides have the ability to earn up to $20/hr over time with advanced training and skill development.
This position is Non-Exempt and reports to the Guest Services Supervisor.

- Requires ability to work outdoors in seasonal desert temperatures and indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

- Requires ability to lift 20 pounds.
Working Conditions
· Ability to work varied shifts and extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to work outdoors in seasonal desert weather conditions with frequent exposure to bright, flashing lights and illuminated signage as part of the Museum’s Collection.
· Ability to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment and in close proximity to other people, sitting / standing for long periods of time.
· Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, telephone, and headset.
· Ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds.
· Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, telephone and other office equipment, knowledge.
· Occasional standing and walking on uneven surfaces (gravel, pavement, etc.).
Work Schedule
· Part-Time.
· Requires on-call/on-duty work as needed.
· May include evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs.
Compensation
· Hourly pay: $15 per hour
· Eligible for overtime in accordance with Nevada wage and hour laws
