Role Overview
Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering New Generation Services (NGS) projects from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, performance testing, initial operations, and prime contract close-out. Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance project team. Has overall responsibility for project execution, ensuring that the project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety and to Customer and Mitsubishi Power performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages a single Project or works as the Deputy Project Manager, with responsibility for the Project team and delivery of Project outcomes. Responsibilities and accountabilities will differ depending on the domain and methods of delivery, but may typically include responsibility for: A single Project, more than $50M; OR Deputy Project Manager on a larger Project or Program
- Prepares and participates in risk, issue and opportunity identification through detailed analysis of the project contracts. Works with project or program leadership to develop and execute mitigation strategies.
- Develops the project baseline income statement with assistance from estimating and cost control groups with the GOA approved estimates, pricing, and DOR splits. Coordinates and provides cost reporting and analysis on a regular basis.
- Oversees the development of an integrated project schedule including critical path for the end-to-end tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement the product or service of the project and ensures resources and dependencies are identified. Ensures assigned resources are executing as planned.
- Responsible for expanding current work scope, developing change order technical and pricing strategies and preparing change order execution strategies/plans.
- Leads others and directs all phases of assigned projects by utilizing program and project methodologies, systems, tools, and quality standards as defined by Mitsubishi Power in developing project plans and deliverables that meet identified requirements. Monitors, tracks, and controls change to the projects through formal change control management of requirements, configuration, performance measures, cost, schedule, project organization structure, and technology environment (release schedules, infrastructure changes, etc.).
- Monitors all project activity including schedules, spending and related items to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned NGS projects. Initiates action to assure project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications. Notifies Director of Project Management of any situations that would have a significant impact on the completion date, cost or quality.
- Establishes alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the project. Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with others.
- Facilitates scheduled project status meeting with owner, owners’ rep, vendors, subcontractors and others connected with the project. Prepares and distributes meeting minutes indicating agreements reached, task assignments and related information.
- throughout the lifecycle of the project and approve for payment or work with Supply Chain Management to negotiate appropriate changes with subcontractor.
- Prepare and submit change orders for approval based on LOA.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field from a 4-year college or university.
- Four to six or more years related experience in managing power generation or oil and gas projects.
- PMP certification is desired, but not mandatory.
- Some overnight travel, up to 50% by land and/or air.
