Job Title:  Senior Manager – Finance & Accounts

 

Purpose: Reporting to the Head – Accounts Payable Management and Controls, this role is responsible for leading the team managing P2P & R2R processes in the Finance function, and assisting with the following:

  • Assisting the Department Head in overall management of the function, including:
    • Design, implementation and monitoring a strong control framework
    • Assessing, monitoring and improving process efficiencies including through automation projects
    • Adopting best practices
    • Creating and maintaining SOP’s, accounting policies and checklists  
    • Develop and publish spend analysis

 

  • Specific responsibilities include accounting, reporting and assistance in budgeting and forecasting of:
    • Content costs by all channels of the network
    • Marketing activities undertaken by all channels
    • Capex, Technical cost for OTT platform
    • GST reconciliations & other GST compliances
    • Monitoring of accounting for Studio Next projects
  • Build strong relationships with Business teams and other stakeholders to drive the Finance agenda while balancing and appreciating the business requirements

Education: Chartered Accountant

Experience: 10-12 years

1.

Accounting, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support preparation of annual & quarterly forecasts for content amort, production depreciation, Studio Next costs
  • Reconciliation of actuals to forecasts & budgets monthly for P&L
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly & annual Cashflow
  • Support preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual forecasts for content, marketing, depreciation, Studio Next costs & revenues
  • Accounting for content, production costs, depreciation, Studio Next costs
  • Review forecast of funds prepared by team members basis inputs. Track actual cashflow against forecasts as per desired timelines
  • Provide monthly flash projections for Content and Production costs.

2.

AP profile

  • Post entries parked by team members in respect of Programming, Capex, Films, Sports, Digital, Music after due validations.
  • Approve payments processed by the team members & coordinate with Banks in case of issues, especially for international payments.
  • Review vendor ageing & reconciliations
  • Sports: Monitor agreements, cost statements, etc.; Ensure timely payment of license fees and receipt of relevant tax related documents.

Capex

  • Proper classification of expenses into Opex & Capex,
  • Accounting of all capex acquisitions project tracking, monitoring CWIP, asset numbering review, annual physical verification.
  • Impairment testing and analysis

Studio Next

  • Review the projects & prepare the management report for revenues, costs & margin
  • Review Cost to completion
  • Review of the auditor reports during shoot
  • Escalate over runs
  • Review the daily cost sheets to ensure accurate reporting
  • Accurate reporting & monitoring

Monthly Closing

  • Review accounting of all content plan, amortization, programming costs and depreciation.
  • Review of accruals for monthly closing for Marketing, Technical costs
  • Preparation and review of Balance sheet for AUC, Inventory, Accruals, Advances etc.
  • Accounting accuracy

Auditing

  • Handle Internal audit, SOX, Corporate, IFC audit queries
  • Tracking & implementation of the actionable emanating from the audit reports
  • Error free and quality audit reports

7.

GST

  • Ensure that all compliances from GST perspective are done for AP.
  • Monthly GST reconciliation & monitoring
  • Accurate reporting & compliances

8.

Implementation of various IT projects

  • Understanding of the As Is Process & the To Be
  • Involvement in the Blueprinting of the projects
  • Coordinate for integration across various impacted systems
