An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Business Officer – Capability to join our team in the Civil Aerospace Service Business Team - Capability at Rolls-Royce in Derby.

The Civil Aerospace Service Business Team is responsible for helping drive business performance by modelling the future performance of our TotalCare contracts, and hence providing focused, insightful information that will allow Civil Aerospace to both enhance the value our contracts deliver as well as underpinning our TotalCare financial reporting.

The Capability team work alongside the Service Business team to create and deliver improvements to the Processes, Systems and Data to further enhance the business insight we are able to provide.

The Service Business team forecasts the profitability for all aftermarket service offerings such as Total Care, Flex and SelectCare as well as supporting the Project and Customer teams in the management of their contracts. You will report to a Manager within the Service Business Capability Team.

Your needs are as unique as you are. What you will be doing:

In this role, you will be responsible for enabling a more effective delivery of an accurate financial and commercial forecast of our aftermarket contracts (through Contract Review Pack’s) comprising of:

  • Change Delivery
    • Delivering change in the way the process and system operates to produce Contract Review Packs comprising of:
      • Identifying, clarifying and prioritising the process and system areas that we should change
      • Providing clear requirements / outcomes that the change will deliver
      • Working closely with both Business and Technical (IT) teams to design the revised process
      • User Acceptance testing of any changes made to the systems
    • Supporting operation of the forecasting cycle, including operation of common processes that support multiple Contract Review Packs
    • Becoming a Subject Matter Expert in specific areas of operation – both process and system

Who we are looking for:

Given the complexity and wide ranging nature of the Contract Review Pack process, we are seeking applications from candidates who have experience and understanding related to one or more of our TotalCare processes – eg Service Business, Commercial, Service Delivery, Lifecycle Costing, Financial etc.

  • Microsoft Excel experience is essential.
  • Experience of working in TotalCare business areas / processes would be highly desirable
  • As our team operates across a number of different functions, applications from any relevant business functions are invited
  • Project Management, Forecasting, Analysis, Communication skills
  • Confidence and understanding of financial statements, Profit & Loss
  • Experience in multi-team communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Business Acumen
