Overview:

 

Under general direction, interprets both customer long-term and short-term inventory requirements; provides analysis and reporting on inventory demand and usage information and Materials Management manpower activity; ensures the control, accuracy, and quality of inventory materials.

 

This is an non-exempt position in Salary Grade 190: Min $40.64 – Mid $48.55 – Max $53.76 per hour. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with staff to develop and document procurement methodology and strategies that support Maintenance Department inventory requirements and promote continuous improvement and industry best practices.
  • Monitors cycle count activity, generates random audits, and analyzes results to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Leads and participates in the planning, testing, and implementation of major systems such as an Enterprise Asset Management system (EAM) platform, ensuring the overall effectiveness of the materials management processes.
  • Leverages EAM system functionality to manage item master data, optimize stock levels, automate replenishment recommendations, and generate analytics dashboards for management reporting.
  • Process Authorization for Disposal and Retirement request, coordinates asset disposal and performs the steps necessary to dispose of obsolete parts and equipment, post on-line items approved to sell at auction.
  • Responsible for generating, reviewing and approving daily parts transfers; releases, analyzes and assigns recommended replenishment orders to the buyers, and maintains warehouse item maser files within the EAM system.
  • Oversees and manages Federally Funded inventory, ensures compliance with funding requirements, and utilizes inventory optimization software to adjust stocking levels as necessary.
  • Generates daily workshop purchase orders to support in-house rebuilding of production items; ensures appropriate documentation for all transactions.

 

Solves Problems & Analyzes Issues: Has and applies problem analysis and problem-solving skills on a technical and interpersonal level.

  • Develops tools and reporting solutions to analyze, monitor, and improve inventory turnover, stock-out performance, part transfer, bus-down situation, and critical parts availability.
  • Applies critical thinking and technical expertise to resolve discrepancies in stock levels, transfers, and part usage.

 

Works in a Collaborative Manner with Others: Works in a collaborative manner with others, helps resolve unproductive conflict.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal clients.

 

Develops Strategic Perspective: Knows how immediate work relates to organizational strategy, translates into actionable steps.

  • Develops short and long-term strategies for materials management, leveraging data from the system to minimize excess inventory, reduce costs, and increase service reliability.
Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field with a minimum of five years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, and/or materials management.
