About the Department
Scheduled Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Position Duties
- Recruits, manages, and completes performance appraisals
- Assures appropriate Navigator staffing at main clinic sites, and travels to other sites as required.
- Maintains federal and state license and/or certification to work as a Navigator or Certified Application Counselor.
- Assures Navigator staff maintain federal and state required license and/or certification to work as a Navigator or Certified Application Counselor; and maintains Illinois Application for Benefits Eligibility (ABE) LCHD account.
- Maintains and develops reports to measure, monitor, and evaluate usage data, performance, trends, and other key performance indicators.
- Creates, implements, adjusts and maintains programmatic processes and procedures to ensure federal and state requirements are followed and to improve workflow, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Evaluates and addresses customer service opportunities and successes; supports and educates staff to help them to achieve customer service and excellent performance.
- Assist consumers in completing eligibility, enrollment and appeal applications as well as help clients understand how to use their insurance coverage.
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of LCHD computer applications that relate to Navigator functions in NextGen as well as employee and management functions in BOSS and trains Navigators in these systems as appropriate.
- Works with Office Managers (OM) and Clinic Coordinators (CC) to help ensure NextGen EPM tasks are submitted for uninsured patients accurately and a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains a basic knowledge of the Health Department and Community Health Center’s services.
- Develops and maintains a working knowledge of individual Emergency Preparedness role.
- Participates in quality improvement activities to assess, monitor, and improve program services
- Participates in mandatory in-services and drills, attends staff meetings, and other appropriate educational trainings offered on a regular basis for professional development.
- Reports all unusual occurrences that may involve the safety and well-being of clients and co-workers directly to the supervisor and/or Safety Officer.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires High School Diploma or GED.
- Four years of office experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Three years supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel programs.
- Obtains ACA Navigator federal and state license within six months of hire.
