Seeking an enthusiastic self-motivated Training Specialist (Night Shift) who thrives in a fast-paced environment to provide support for a long-term construction rail project in Hayward, CA.

Requirements:

The Contractor will perform the Installation Vehicle Trainer role and is responsible for instructing students in both the fundamental and advanced operations of Powered Flat Cars, Hi-Rail vehicles, and Rail Excavators. This includes pre-trip inspections, safe vehicle control, and operational procedures. The role involves hands-on demonstrations at work sites to ensure safety and efficiency. Training also covers advanced operations of Powered Flat Cars equipped with an access platform and a knuckle crane, focusing on the safe and effective use of these specialized features.

• This person will be responsible for conduction both hands-on and classroom training.

• Training will take place during the night shift at the various BART Hayward Test Tracks.

Work Hours: Onsite work from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Qualifications:

·        Certified Track or Structures Equipment Operator with current Hi Rail, RWP, and OR&P certifications.

·        Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, as well as mechanical drawings.

·        Knowledge of safety rules and procedures.

·        Computer literacy.

·        Hardware knowledge (e.g., bogie, coupler, air pressured-brake system, and traction).

·        Experienced Technical Trainer with an adult learning background in technical and mechanical systems, specifically with Rail Excavators (KGT) and Powered Flat Cars (VMT).

·        Deep mechanical knowledge of track equipment, including assembly at manufacturing plants and field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across the Americas.

·        Highly experienced in on-site commissioning, repair, maintenance, and training for various railroad construction products at manufacturing and/or distribution sites.

·        Skilled in designing and delivering training courses tailored to rail industry end-users, with effective adult learning strategies (e.g., field demonstrations followed by classroom instruction).

·        Proficient in demonstrating the correct use of tools and instrumentation required for installation.

·        Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair of hydraulic units, hoses, cooling systems, and electrical data acquisition cabinets.

·        Excellent ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

·        Exceptional experience in training and qualifying Machine Operators and Work Equipment Mechanics.

Training and Development

·        Proven expertise in Adult Learning Teachings specializes in training adult technicians and mechanics within the Rail industry.

·        Exceptional Customer Service Support experience providing end-users with best practice principles for maintaining track equipment, remote and onsite troubleshooting, repairs, and problem-solving.
