General funds, beginning Spring 2026, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. May be for Leeward CC day, evening, or weekend offerings on and off campus, such as Leeward CC Waianae Moku and local high schools (pending background clearance), grant locations, or other satellite campuses.


Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Under general supervision, develop curriculum for and teach a range of psychology courses at the developmental and college levels; prepare and revise course learning outcomes; identify student learning needs and develop appropriate teaching strategies, instructional material, and methods; conduct course learning outcome assessment and other assessments of instruction; improve student learning based on assessment data. This position may include instructional assignments at multiple campuses/facilities and distance education.
  2. Perform related work as assigned. Related work activities include, but are not limited to, assisting in campus-related activities; developing and maintaining a professional self-improvement plan; participating in faculty/administrative committees, community service, and in-service training as appropriate; collecting data and preparing reports. 
  3. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in psychology

Minimum qualifications (degrees and credits) must be earned from regionally or nationally accredited postsecondary colleges and universities recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and met by the effective date of appointment. 


Desirable Qualifications

  1. Higher Education teaching experience in psychology using various course delivery formats (e.g., in-person, hybrid, online).
  2. Teaching experience at the community college level.
  3. Experience using Open Education Resources (OER).
  4. Experience conducting course learning outcome assessments and using assessment data to improve instruction.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with students and peers.
  6. Understanding of and experience working with a diverse student population.
