This is a full-time position working M-F, 8am-4:30pm. Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position. 

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Patient Benefit Coordinator conducts eligibility screenings and assesses patient’s financial requirements for third party insurance options. You will report to the Manager. 

 

Primary Tasks:

  1. Interview and patients to determine eligibility for resources.

  2. Update patient’s records after each screening.

  3. Educate patients on available insurance options, provide quotes, and help with the application and referral process.

  4. Navigate the patient through the ACA/Marketplace application and ensure the necessary documentation is submitted; assist applicants on coverage and changes to coverage.

  5. Review program eligibility guidelines, coverage options, and Native American policies and benefits.

  6. Help patients in determining the program and assistance needed such as Patient Relations, Emergency Services, Choctaw Referred Care, or Housing.

  7. Advocate for patients, screen uninsured patients for alternate resources, and educate patients on the process of obtaining coverage.

  8. Audit patient charts for accurate insurance coverage and make correction in the patient’s Electronic Health Record and sequence insurance.

  9. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid., private insurance and third-party billing
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and the importance of confidentiality
  • Two [2] years of medical office experience
