Reports to: Administrative Team (Principal/Assistant Principal)
Purpose: The Extension Support Coach designs, implements, and supports standards-aligned extension and enrichment activities for high-achieving students across grade levels. This role works closely with classroom teachers and the AIG Lead Teacher to enhance learning opportunities that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic rigor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (required); teaching certification
- Experience in engaging, building, and maintaining relationships with students and staff.
- Experience in providing supports with enrichment and extension
- Ability to provide supports to
- Experience working with gifted or high-achieving
- Strong instructional skills and the ability to differentiate
- Excellent communication and collaboration
- Flexible, innovative, and passionate about fostering student
Major Duties and Responsibilities.:
- Deliver targeted extension and enrichment activities for high-achieving students across all grade levels.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement instruction during intervention time.
- Use both co-teaching and pull-out models to meet student needs and learning goals while building capacity in our teaching staff.
- Identify and adapt resources and strategies to challenge and extend student thinking through relevant application of content standards taught in the
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to both students and teaching
- Implement strategies to support deeper learning, including:
1: DOK (Depth of Knowledge) Level 2 and 3 questioning
2: Error analysis
3: Higher-order thinking and problem-solving techniques
- Foster a positive, supportive, and academically rigorous learning
- Maintain consistent communication with teachers and leadership regarding student growth, instructional adjustments, and data insights.
- Ongoing collaborative planning with AIG Lead
- Monitor student progress and provide authentic feedback to students and teachers regarding growth and progress.

Term of Employment: Part-time, 10 months
