As a Leave of Absence Specialist, you will coordinate all phases of the Company’s short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) programs and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Company’s vendors
  • Notify employees of STD and FMLA eligibility
  • Ensure documents and information is provided to employees or their designees
  • Process the Workday leave business processes in Workday
  • Document and maintain record of Company communications to employees, management, vendors, and all other contacts
  • Enter leave time and make payroll record entries to ensure proper tracking and payment
  • Work with payroll and HRIS teams to resolve issues; maintain a working relationship with vendors.
  • Work in conjunction with the HR Compliance and Corporate legal team to ensure Leave of Absence (LOA) and FMLA processing is compliant.
  • Stay current on changes and updates to laws regarding leave on federal and state levels; communicate changes to HR team as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain documentation.
  • Provide Employee Resource Center, Total Rewards, and field HR with standard operating procedures and reporting and analyses of historical, current, and future state of leave participation.

What you bring to the table:

  • 5 years of experience in general benefits, HR, leave coordination and customer service required; 6+ years of experience or combination of experience/education preferred
  • Four-year degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Proficient in:

  • Workday, ServiceNow and other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Benefits, including pensions
  • Disability plan design
  • Federal and state FMLA rules and regulations
  • COBRA rules and regulations

Additional skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Advanced research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with time sensitive materials related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Work Shift and Hours: Monday - Friday, standard business hours, in office

Compensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $28.00 per hour depending on experience.
