Description

“For years, I believed I wasn’t anything more than a high school dropout. I learned something powerful at AoH. They wanted me to succeed,” said Brown. “My high school diploma hangs proudly on my wall; it's next to an empty frame that will hold my bachelor's degree in social work.”

At Academy of Hope Adult Public Charter School (AoH), this is what transformation looks like. Every day, our teachers help adult learners reimagine what’s possible—and achieve milestones they once thought were out of reach.

We’re seeking a dedicated, innovative Math Teacher to join our Ward 5 campus. This role is more than teaching equations—it’s about unlocking potential, sparking confidence, and empowering learners to reach their next chapter.

Why Join Us?

  • Professional community: Work alongside passionate educators committed to adult learning and equity.

  • $2,000 Signing Bonus: Recognizing your commitment from day one.

  • Supportive environment: AoH provides resources, collaboration, and opportunities for growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Design engaging, learner-centered lessons that build confidence and mastery.

  • Support learners with varying math levels and learning styles.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instruction and student success.

What We’re Looking For

  • Beyond subject expertise, we’re seeking a teacher who brings the personal qualities that make learning possible:

  • Empathy & Patience – Meeting learners where they are and encouraging persistence.

  • Strong Communication – Explaining concepts clearly and listening actively to student needs.

  • Adaptability – Flexibility in approach when learners struggle or require alternative methods.

  • Collaboration – Working seamlessly with colleagues, support staff, and leadership.

  • Cultural Responsiveness – Respect for diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

  • Positive Energy – Inspiring confidence and motivating learners to stay engaged.

  • Professionalism – Reliability, accountability, and integrity in every interaction.

Join AoH and become part of a mission that changes lives—one equation, one breakthrough, one diploma at a time.

  • Experience teaching math—adult education, GED prep, or secondary level strongly preferred.

  • Culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices.

  • Excellent communication, patience, and adaptability to support diverse learners.

  • Commitment to AoH’s mission of equity, inclusion, and lifelong learning.

Why Join AoH?
