About the Role: Young Children and Families – Mental Health Clinician:

The Youth and Family Outpatient team at North Range Behavioral Health provides evidence-based, compassionate treatment in a family-centered manner that engages a child’s entire ecology and leverages the strengths of the family system. Caregivers are involved in shaping goals, providing feedback, and are asked to participate in therapy. This role supports clients birth to 8 years old and their caregivers.

The Young Child and Family team promotes the wellness of young children and their families by addressing the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of development. Integrated behavioral health and primary care approaches, as well as work within education, human services, childcare, and other settings, are utilized. Services include parent-child therapy, development screen consultation, and psychoeducation.

As a Mental Health Clinician on the Youth and Family Outpatient Team, you will help develop strength-based service plans, monitor treatment progress, document interactions, and maintain electronic clinical records and reporting data. The Youth and Family Outpatient program is staffed with well-trained and compassionate staff who promote healthy youth, safe homes, and strong families.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, goal planning, and treatment for mental health and/or substance use issues, utilizing required instruments and formats within appropriate timelines.
  • Develop and update strength-based treatment plans, continuing care plans, and discharge summaries; make timely referrals.
  • Observe clients, assess diagnoses and mental status, and implement treatment plans based on clients’ needs and functioning levels.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, law enforcement, external providers, and psychiatrists to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Work with clients on safety planning, symptom management, support system identification, and risk mitigation.
  • Teach clients behavioral skills, coping strategies, and problem-solving techniques to improve well-being and daily functioning.
  • Support evidence-based practices to ensure effective interventions within the program.
  • Provide case management and refer clients to additional resources (e.g., vocational, medical, housing, residential treatment).
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records, ensuring ethical coding and billing in compliance with agency standards.
     

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurability requirements.
  • Successful completion of background, fingerprinting, and drug testing
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

 

Experience:

  • No prior experience is required, though it’s preferred.
     

 

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Annual Flu Vaccinations
  • Annual TB Testing
