RESPONSIBILITIES 

Including, but not limited to: 

  • Provide routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to residents in accordance with Rhode Island law. 

  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation entries for medications given. 

  • Complete resident assignments effectively and promptly 

  • Assist residents with transporting to/from appointments, activity and social programs etc. as necessary. 

  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. 

  • Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties. 

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. 

  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. 

  • Provide support in emergency situations by responding promptly to resident's needs. 

  • Assist nursing staff in providing hospice care for terminally ill patients. 

  • Help lift and transfer residents safely using appropriate techniques and equipment. 

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols. 

  • Document residents' information accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. 

  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive resident care in our facilities.  

SKILLS 

  • Currently certified as a Medication Technician and CNA in the State of Rhode Island 

  • Previous experience working with the elderly in a skilled nursing environment is preferred.  

  • Strong understanding of resident care principles and practices. 

  • Ability to provide compassionate support in hospice care settings. 

  • Proficient in lifting techniques to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. 

  • Familiarity with Skilled Nursing, Sub-acute, and Memory Care and the specific needs of residents. 

  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain resident confidentiality. 

  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations during an emergency. 

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals. 

  • This Medication Technician/Nursing Assistant role is essential for ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care while promoting their dignity and comfort throughout their healthcare journey.
