Role Overview:

The Head of AI Integration & Operations will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for architecting and executing AI-enabled solutions that connect business systems, normalize data, and optimize workflows across the organization.

This role is not about centralizing all business systems into one platform. Instead, it is about enabling departmental autonomy while ensuring standardized inputs, outputs, and data flows (“business system APIs”) that support a lean, nimble, and integrated operating model.

In addition to setting strategy, this leader will own execution — driving delivery through a combination of internal resources and external partners. They will be accountable for program outcomes, manage vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts to ensure efficiency, scalability, and value creation.

Responsibilities:

AI Integration & Data Standards

  • Define and implement integration standards and business system APIs.
  • Ensure departmental systems remain lightweight and flexible while contributing to a unified, normalized data ecosystem.

Execution Ownership

  • Lead the design, development, and rollout of AI-enabled tools and process improvements.
  • Drive delivery end-to-end, leveraging both internal teams and contracted partners.
  • Own accountability for project outcomes, budgets, and ROI.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage vendor and partner relationships.
  • Ensure external providers deliver against cost, quality, and timeline expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with leaders across Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR to identify opportunities for AI-driven integration and workflow optimization.
  • Act as a bridge between technical solutions and business needs, ensuring adoption and measurable impact.

Change Management & Training

  • Lead change management efforts to ensure adoption of AI and integration solutions.
  • Develop training programs to build organizational capability around new tools and processes.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies, integration trends, and industry best practices.
  • Proactively bring forward ideas to enhance efficiency, scalability, and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years in technology leadership roles focused on business systems, integrations, or operations; demonstrated expertise delivering AI or advanced analytics solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of AI tools (e.g., machine learning, NLP, RPA) & complex business systems, system integration technologies (APIs, ETL pipelines), and data platforms.
  • Execution Track Record: Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives with clear accountability for delivery, budgets, and measurable outcomes.
  • Vendor Management: Demonstrated experience selecting, negotiating, and managing technology vendors and service providers.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to align AI and integration initiatives with broader business strategy and departmental needs.
  • Leadership Skills: Effective at leading diverse teams, managing change, and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies for business stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Key Competencies:

  • Strategic vision for AI-enabled operations.
  • Execution-focused, with strong ownership mentality.
  • Skilled negotiator and vendor manager.
  • Analytical and data-driven problem solver.
  • Collaborative, empowering leader.
