Radiation Therapist

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Hours: M-F 7:30-4

Location: Organization: New York Cancer and Blood Specialists

In This Role, You Will:

● Ensure proper patient positioning to guarantee accurate treatment delivery

● Follow all principles of radiation protection for patient, staff, and self

● Review and verify patient charts for accuracy and completeness

● Prepare and perform daily quality assurance tests on radiation machines

● Fabricate and use immobilization devices as needed

● Counsel patients and monitor side effects, ensuring safety throughout treatment

• Administer radiation oncology treatments according to the Radiation Oncologist's prescription under a minimum of supervision

• Keep accurate daily records of treatments administered

• Instruct students on technical procedures during their clinical rotations under the supervision of the Chief Therapist

We Require

• Graduate of an A.M.A. approved 2-year training program in radiation therapy technology or its equivalent is required

• Registered Radiation Therapy licensure in the state of New York is required

• Certification in American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required

• CPR Required

• A good decision-maker, with demonstrated success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward

• Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals

• An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and communicating based on that understanding

Salary: Starting at $57 Hourly based on experience
