The Leidos Civil NISC IV team has an opening for an EOSH Specialist to provide technical support to ensure a healthy and safe work environment through implementation and maintenance of the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 and the MMAC Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) in accordance with ISO 45001. Extensive work experience in stormwater compliance and construction review processes for environmental impacts and potential safety hazards. Develop procedures, processes, standards, specifications, and systems to identify and achieve optimal control or reduction of hazards and exposures that may harm people, property, and/or the environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as part of a multidisciplinary team in analyzing field-level hazard-producing mechanisms.
- Research regulatory, scientific, and engineering written materials.
- Provide regulatory compliance support in coordination with local authorities for the following areas: sanitary sewer and pretreatment discharges, surface water discharges (non-storm), storm water discharges.
- Perform quarterly stormwater outfall and facility inspections.
- Initiate and provide written documentation to support the MMAC EMS and HSMS.
- Review Construction Project Documents such as Design Analyses, Drawings, Timelines, etc. to determine Environmental and Safety related concerns.
- Organize, File and coordinate with EOSH office Review Construction Project Documents such as Design Analyses, Drawings, Timelines, etc. to determine Environmental and Safety related concerns.
- Attend Construction Meetings (Pre Bidding, Preconstruction, Progress, Project Design Review, etc.) on a regular basis.
- Provide professional comments for construction documents during the design phase to determine potential environmental impacts and safety hazards.
- Ensure that comments for construction drawings regarding environmental impacts and safety hazards are addressed and enforced during construction projects.
- Provide engineering expertise regarding environmental protection which includes knowledge of theories, principles, practices, techniques of environmental engineering concerning facilities and systems for controlling pollution and protecting quality of resources and the environment.
- Federal and state environmental laws; legal due process system, rules and regulations concerning environmental compliance at Federal facilities; and environmental audit, environmental impact statements and environmental assessment associated with acquisition or sale of real property.
- Knowledge of the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- A good understanding of Federal and State environmental laws and the legal due process system.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance laws and policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with multiple customers.
- Capable of lifting 20 lbs. and completing physically demanding tasks.
- Capable of responding, containing and cleaning hazardous and non-hazardous waste spills.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental or safety related fields and 2 - 4 years of relevant experience. However, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Previous work experience in the following types of programs is highly desired: Sanitary Sewer and Pretreatment Discharges Technical Support, Surface Water Discharges (non-storm) Technical Support, Storm Water Discharges Technical Support
- Experience working in a commercial campus environment.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
