About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team in Havant. This is a newly created senior leadership role designed to strengthen our manufacturing engineering capabilities as we expand our CNC capacity and subcontract operations. Reporting directly to the Operations General Manager, you will lead our Manufacturing Engineering team and drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across our production processes.

What You’ll Do

In this key leadership role, you will:

  • Lead and Develop the Manufacturing Engineering Team:

    • Coordinate team activities, set clear objectives, and monitor performance to achieve strategic goals.

    • Recruit, train, and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive Technical Excellence:

    • Provide high-level technical support for subcontract machining and vendor partnerships to ensure quality and compliance.

    • Own and develop offline programming for new CNC machines, standardizing methods and accelerating code creation.

    • Expand programming skills within the team to support additional machines and ensure coverage during absences.

  • Champion Lights-Out Machining & Automation:

    • Lead the implementation of the 1060 PMC system on second shifts and extend automation capabilities to additional machines.

  • Continuously Improve Manufacturing Processes:

    • Develop, maintain, and optimize manufacturing processes in line with business objectives.

    • Cleanse routings and retire outdated conventional work centers to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Support Growth and Innovation:

    • Drive the acquisition, implementation, and integration of new machines and technologies.

    • Ensure engineering processes and best practices are standardized and consistently applied across operations.

  • Collaborate and Communicate:

    • Serve as the key liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and other departments, ensuring alignment, clear communication, and effective problem-solving.

    • Engage with vendors and partners to ensure requirements are fully understood and quality expectations are met.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a dynamic leader with a passion for manufacturing innovation and a proven track record of delivering results. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering leadership, ideally within CNC machining or precision engineering environments.

  • A deep understanding of process development, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence.

  • Expertise in offline programming, machining automation, and new equipment integration.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and build high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A proactive, solutions-driven approach with the ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
