What We’re Looking For
CARE is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Major Gifts Manager to help advance major donor engagement and drive high-impact philanthropy. This role serves as a critical partner to frontline fundraisers, providing essential project management, writing, data, and administrative support to ensure a seamless and exceptional donor experience. The ideal candidate is highly organized, strategic, and donor-centered—with strong communication skills, experience managing complex projects, and a passion for CARE’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Relationship Managers (RMs) to design and execute targeted outreach strategies based on donor interests, giving patterns, and relationship stage.
- Lead the creation and execution of segmented mail and email campaigns, working closely with the Major Gifts Operations Specialist to ensure data accuracy and audience alignment.
- Identify lapsed, under-engaged, or high-potential donors; propose and implement re-engagement strategies.
- Conduct light-touch prospect research and collaborate with CARE’s Research team to inform donor strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date donor pipelines in Salesforce, tracking opportunities, stewardship actions, and revenue projections.
- Support gift entry, receipting, and stewardship workflows in partnership with the Operations Specialist and Relationship Managers.
- Track and follow up on complex giving vehicles (e.g., donor-advised funds, private foundations, stock gifts), ensuring timely acknowledgment and personalized stewardship.
- Proactively surface data gaps, engagement opportunities, and operational improvements for assigned donor portfolios.
- Draft compelling donor communications, including personalized emails, follow-up notes, and stewardship updates that reflect CARE’s impact and the donor’s values.
- Prepare internal briefing materials for donor meetings—bios, agendas, and strategic talking points—with a focus on clarity, discretion, and alignment.
- Ensure all written deliverables meet high standards of quality, tone, and timeliness.
- Participate in team-wide strategic initiatives and special projects to enhance major donor cultivation, stewardship, and internal coordination.
- Contribute ideas and solutions that improve team efficiency, elevate donor experiences, and support a culture of excellence.
