What We Are Looking For
The Department of Theatre Arts seeks an Office Manager to serve in our front office. The Office Manager supports day-to-day operations of the Department of Theatre Arts. The position requires the knowledge and implementation of a wide range of university policies and procedures, including the handling of confidential information. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, prioritizing, and time-management skills, be detail-oriented and have expertise in providing excellent customer service. The candidate must be a self-starter and work well in a team environment.
A Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant work experience are required. A Bachelor’s Degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of one another. Due to the nature of the role, occasional work on evenings and weekends will be required.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Greet and assist all who enter the Theatre office while promoting a professional environment with excellent customer service
- Answer a wide range of phone call inquiries relating to Baylor Theatre
- Perform administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the office
- Support the Department Chair through administrative work
- Maintain records of departmental policies and procedures, class scheduling, student achievement, scholarship requests, degree reports, casting, attendance, etc.
- Oversee disbursement and reimbursement of petty cash
- Coordinate travel for guest artists
- Collaborate with department staff on management and planning of events
- Supervise and support student workers
- Design and order merchandise and recruitment items
- Maintain departmental office and faculty supply needs
- Partner with various university departments on special projects
- Use technology applications to generate reports, prepare meeting agendas, transcribe minutes from meetings, create presentations, organize resource documents, and other requested tasks
- Be willing to be self-taught (with support) on a variety of campus-specific computer applications, including Box, Chair SIS, Ignite, Navigate/Student Success Collaborative, Unified Advising System, and more
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
