                                                                Meat Processor Focus Area

The position will be considered a skilled position requiring proficiency in all aspects of meat processing. This role will report to the Production Supervisor.

Description and Responsibilities

• Have familiarity with HACCP, Food Safety measures & GMP
• Operates machinery to grind, mix, and stuff product.
• Ability to run a band saw efficiently and safely
• Ability to follow instructions of management and customer needs
• Ability to assist with documentation as required by USDA
• Ability to pre-op plant to be ready for days production
• Ability to stand & work in a cold and wet environments for long periods
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy items as required
• Ability to work with PM and coworkers to fully complete orders at appropriate quality levels consistently and on time.
• Ability to fully participate in end of day cleaning as required
• Identify raw material quality and point out discrepancies to supervisor.
• Follow all safety guidelines including protective equipment.
• Utilizes scale and measuring tools to measure and weigh
• Operates walk-behind forklift to move material.
• Proper use of knives, hook, saws, grinder, and other specialized equipment.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications   

• High School degree or equivalent preferred
• Experience working in a production environment, ideally with food or involving mechanical equipment is preferred
• Pays attention and strives to meet quality standards efficiently
• Strong work ethic and reliable
• Team player, building trusting relationships with team members 

Physical Demands of the Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to see, speak, hear, read, walk, and stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.  for long periods. The employee must be able to pull, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, and lift in excess of 50 lbs. There is extensive walking required.
