About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
This is a full-time, on-site position located Greensburg, PA.
The job of Supervisor, Drawing Management - Engineering Processes requires an individual to be self-directed with a strong understanding of Transmission and Substation Design, Standards, Equipment requirements, GIS mapping, and Drawing/Records Management.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and oversee the daily activities of a team of engineers, designers, and clerical personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee tracking and monitoring of Engineering Contractor work related to drawing management.
- Review and approve access to T&S Engineering shared drives, websites and FileNet.
- Review and approve system operating requests (SORs), IT Hub requests, timesheets, invoices (Coupa), and other relevant documentation.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members.
- Driving for continuous improvement across the team and with our engineering contractors and the company, actively seeking process improvement opportunities.
- Participate in industry meetings (i.e. IEEE, EPRI, etc.).
- Support communication across business units regarding project needs related to drawing management, including redlines.
- Demonstrate a high level of safety commitment throughout day-to-day functions.
- Supporting storm restoration efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, a GIS related field, or related technical discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required; OR a Two-year degree in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline, and a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience is required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Relevant work experience includes, but is not limited to:
- Knowledge of process/document management
- In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, FileNet, SAP, CREWS, SharePoint, and GIS
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
