Director of Retail Operations
The Director of Retail Operations plays a pivotal role in leading the branch network to deliver exceptional member service, operational excellence, and strategic alignment. This role is responsible for overseeing multi-branch performance, driving sales and service execution, and developing future leaders through succession planning. The Director serves in translating enterprise strategy into branch-level execution.
What you will do…
- Foster a member-first culture that aligns with the credit union’s mission and values.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support organizational goals.
- Lead and mentor branch managers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Coordinate the execution of sales and service strategies across the branch network to drive member engagement, revenue growth, and operational consistency.
- Monitor branch performance metrics including member satisfaction, loan production, deposit growth, efficiency, and digital adoption towards performance goals and develop targeted action plans to address gaps.
- Collaborate with VP of Retail on strategic initiatives and performance targets.
- Champion succession planning and leadership development across the branch network.
- Ensure consistency in service delivery, policies, compliance, and procedures across all branches.
- Conduct regular branch visits and audits to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Act as the representative on corporate projects, bringing the branch perspective to enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of branch leadership and staff.
- Address and resolve member issues or concerns and provide guidance and support to branch leadership and staff on effective issue resolution.
- Champion accountability across the branch network ensuring execution follows intent and results follow plans.
- Deliver clear and timely updates on branch performance, projects, and key initiatives to the VP of Retail.
What you need…
- 7+ years of progressive experience in financial services, retail banking, or a service driven environment.
- 6+ years of leadership experience required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel within Florida & Georgia up to 30% of the time.
- Proven leadership, sales management, and team development.
- In-depth knowledge of branch operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Strong understanding of credit union products, services, and lending practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders including members, employees, executive leadership
- Exceptional inter-personal, problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficient in financial analysis and performance metrics
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with the ability to support the branches and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Proven success in building collaborative relationships across departments to align strategies, share insights, and drive unified execution of organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, and mentor branch leaders and staff, fostering continuous development and high-performance culture across the organization.
