PeopleSoft Support
- Manage PeopleSoft financials applications for corporate departments and field offices consisting of approximately 300 users.
- Provide functional user support for PeopleSoft financials applications.
- Central point of contact for creating and modifying PeopleSoft ChartFields and ensuring consistency across all financial systems such as those used for marketing, operations and budget, including PeopleSoft HR/Payroll.
- Provide PeopleSoft product knowledge and expertise to IT, Accounts Payable, and Payroll on projects for other departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Financial Reporting
- Create and modify financial reporting structure using PeopleSoft Tree Manager. Utilize Tree Utilities and Tree Auditor tools while performing this task. Perform standard tree maintenance functions such as adding and deleting nodes and detail values.
- Define, create, and maintain ChartField combination edits, edit rules, and groups. Run the build combination edit process and validate the rules.
- Create and modify PS/nVision matrix layouts utilizing a combination of PS/nVision variable, timespan, ledger and ChartField criteria.
- Create and modify PS/nVision scopes and report requests on the web and in 3-tier.
- Maintain and create PS/nVision report books that allow various levels of management in the field offices and corporate to view monthly and quarterly financial statements on the web.
Enhancements and Upgrades
- Coordinate and test customized processes such as a sqr process that copies PS/nVision reports generated from Report Manager to a designated shared drive.
- Manage project enhancements such as journal workflow and security.
- Create test scripts for user acceptance testing.
- Coordinate enhancements resulting from changes to General Ledger interfaces from other systems.
Accounting and Financial Support
- Perform year-end close process includes defining closing rules and ChartField value sets and running reports for validation purposes.
- Prepare and upload VITAS monthly results and estimates, as well as yearly budgets into Cognos8 (financial system used by parent company).
- Review and approve all project requests for changes and enhancements to the various systems at VITAS. This includes determining whether the change will impact the financial statements.
- Provide both internal and external auditors with reports and requested information during quarterly and yearly audits as well as 404 roll-forward testing of spreadsheets, security, and journal entries.
Training
- Provide informal PeopleSoft General Ledger training to corporate and field employees on an as need basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum three years prior Accounting/Financial System experience
- Previous experience in general ledger accounting
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) preferred
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions
- Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred. CPA preferred.
