Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are looking for a Quality Metrology Engineer to join our team at our Tualatin, Oregon headquarters. The selected candidate will support the Machining and Integrated Assembly Divisions and will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards are upheld throughout the sourcing and manufacture of advanced hardware. This role will develop and maintain metrology systems, perform advanced dimensional analyses, calibrate equipment, and ensure compliance with all applicable standards and specifications.
This role is on-site (not remote/not hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.
Requirements
- Provide training to employees on Quality related topics including Duramax and all other Zeiss CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
- Record and Trend stability of machine processes (Cpk) using Pi-web or QC-calc.
- Create CMM fixtures using internal 3D printers in SolidWorks software Core Duty 4.
- Read and interpret customer drawings that include GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and perform training.
- Perform advanced manual inspections with gauging tools and perform training.
- Solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Update any QMS (Quality Management System) documentation and perform training to stated document.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration.
- Create/refine Manufacturing Work Instructions and Quality Inspection plans
- Lead/Facilitate internal Continuous Improvement efforts
- Interface with Customer Quality and Engineering Reps

- Must understand and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal documentation standards (e.g., ISO, ITAR)

Minimum Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science required with an emphasis in Engineering or similar field from an accredited university
Experience:
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience required
- At least 1 year of experience developing quality standards, methods, work instructions, and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support root cause analysis.
- Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 or ISO equivalents for interpreting engineering drawings.
- Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, PolyWorks, MODUS).
- Competency in performing precise inspections and interpreting results.
- Ability to communicate technical findings to cross-functional teams.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks related to quality inspections, tool maintenance, and metrology projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS:
- Salary: $55,000 to $90,000 per year DOE
