Compliance Coordinator

Program/ Location: Quality & Compliance Department, Administration Office - New Bedford, MA
Education/ Licensure: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field preferred.
Pay Rate: $58,656 - $62,400 annual salary (Education & experience dependent)
Status: Full Time, 40hrs/week
Shift: Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm
Travel required & includes mileage reimbursement

About Us

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Compliance Coordinator Requirements:

  • Presents as courteous and professional at all times 
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in a logical and clear fashion 
  • Demonstrates strong organization and time management skills
  • Works with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues
  • Complies with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Policy and HIPAA Regulations

Compliance Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Audit and Regulatory Support: Assist with internal and external audits, licensing renewals, and regulatory inspections. Prepare required documentation, track corrective actions, and ensure follow-through to maintain compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Contract and Agreement Management: Support the organization in documenting, tracking, and maintaining contracts, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and other organizational agreements. Ensure all documents are up-to-date, accessible, and compliant with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance Communication Management: Triage, review, and respond to compliance-related communications, including incident reports, inquiries, and escalations from staff or external stakeholders. Ensure appropriate follow-up, documentation, and resolution of all issues.
  • Complaints and Grievance Coordination: Receive, track, and document complaints and grievances. Facilitate investigations, ensure timely follow-up, and coordinate with relevant leadership to resolve issues effectively while maintaining accurate records.
  • Investigations Support: Assist, or lead in investigations involving policy, regulatory, or operational concerns. Gather documentation, coordinate interviews or follow-ups, and help prepare reports and recommendations for leadership review.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Support health and safety assessments, environmental inspections, and compliance monitoring activities. Track findings, follow-up actions, and ensure corrective measures are implemented in accordance with organizational standards and regulations.
  • Proactive Risk Assessment: Participate in proactive risk assessment initiatives. Identify potential areas of risk, coordinate with leadership to assign responsibilities, and monitor completion of follow-up actions to mitigate compliance or operational risks.
  • Records Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate and organized compliance records. Generate regular and ad hoc reports to provide leadership with actionable insights into compliance trends, risk areas, and program performance.
  • Compliance Reporting: Prepare, review, and maintain accurate compliance reports, summarizing key findings, trends, and corrective actions to inform leadership and support regulatory requirements.

Compliance Coordinator Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare compliance, quality management, or regulatory affairs strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable to healthcare and behavioral health programs.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data to identify trends and insights using platforms such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Airtable.
