Summary: Supervise pregnant and parenting mothers ages 18+ years old and their children ages 0-3 years old within the Guadalupe Home Program and set appropriate trauma informed behavioral limits within a safe and caring environment. The Parent Support Specialist is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out responsibilities assigned as long as such actions do not deviate from established organizational policies and are consistent with program guidelines and sound professional judgment.
Position Responsibilities:
- *Pass TPCN Counselor Certification exam with 80% or better annually/as required.
- *Properly bill TPCN and/or other agency utilized systems provided to residents.
- *Knowledge of Guadalupe Home’s Resident Rules & Guidelines.
- *Issue write-ups for residents that violate the Rules & Guidelines for Guadalupe Home.
- *Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.
- *Must have clean driving record
- *Must be available to cover overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
- Teach constructive behavior and social skills.
- Teach basic parenting skills.
- Teach realistic problem-solving behaviors and life skills.
- Teach good personal hygiene skills.
- Reinforce positive behavior by providing healthy, positive incentives for residents and children.
- Oversee daily chores and room checks.
- Ensure cleanliness of all common areas.
- Update daily logs, both written and electronic such as volunteer logs, medication logs, In-kind donations.
- Assist with implementation of social and recreational activities for residents.
- Engage with residents and children daily during activities and leisure time.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and Employment Policy is mandatory.
- Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience
- Prefer experience working with families and children, support services, and/or shelters;
- Required to have a clean driving record and proof of insurance to drive agency vehicle or to transport residents in agency vehicles to events as needed.
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with computer software and general office machines (i.e., Microsoft Office software preferred);
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
- Must have good written and verbal skills;
- Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
