The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Accounting. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Applicants must have a PhD in Accounting or a closely related field. Candidates from all areas of Accounting are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated mastery of techniques in theory, empirical, or experimental research methods is required, as well as a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate will have an established international reputation and will be expected to sustain and lead innovative and independent research, and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant research seminars and conferences, awards and accolades, editorial activities, other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing. Select applicants will be invited for a campus visit to the University of Toronto Mississauga and the Rotman School of Management to present their research as part of the interview process.
Evidence of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated by teaching accomplishments and the teaching dossier, including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations, submitted as part of the application, as well as strong endorsements by referees.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a faculty member at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). UTM Management is part of the broader tri-campus network, along with the Rotman School of Management and University of Toronto Scarborough Management units, under the Graduate Department of Management. Successful candidates will be cross-appointed to the Accounting Area of the Rotman School of Management, providing them opportunities to collaborate with faculty and graduate students at the St George Campus. They will be part of a strong culture of research, doctoral training, graduate and undergraduate management education with the following programs: PhD; B.Com., BBA and HBA (Management). Appointments with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor require a tenure review that follows the regular procedures established by policy.
