Job Summary:
The Web Designer is responsible for maintaining corporate website(s), designing and developing new websites, web pages, email blasts, and print and marketing materials, and assisting all levels of management with their interactive and web-related requests.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment;
- Work with print designers to ensure consistency between the company’s websites and print materials;
- Work cross-functionally with other departments (Marketing, Human Factors. Product Management, etc.);
- Interface with third-party vendors to ensure that all content hosted/managed by a third-party stays consistent and up-to-date with the company’s internally-hosted content;
- Perform special projects as requested;
- Work with different content management systems;
- Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders;
- Optimize existing user interface designs;
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback;
- Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience
- Knowledge of HTML/XHTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript jQuery, Bootstrap;
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Web Suite (Dreamweaver, XD, etc.);
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.);
- Ability to work within multiple CMS environments: Episerver, Shopify, WordPress, etc.;
- Knowledge of browser compatibility across multiple platforms and devices;
- Knowledge of responsive design, page optimization, HTML email coding, video for web (streaming and non-streaming);
- Familiar with WCAG 2.0 Web Standards;
- Good development practices: documentation, code standards, code readability, code/design reviews, optimization, and sustainability;
- Ability to take direction, interface effectively, adapt to changes, and contribute as a team member;
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute on multiple tasks;
- Exceptional time-management, organizational and communication skills;
- Detail, results-oriented with a positive “can do” attitude and a sense of urgency;
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction;
- Up-to-date with the latest web trends, techniques and technologies;
- Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, and prototypes;
- Design UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets;
- Collaborate with the marketing team, and internal and external designers to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the digital user
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with healthcare medical devices industry;
- API web integration;
- Experience working with source control – Git, Beanstalk, etc
- Knowledge of building ecommerce web applications;
- Knowledge of query tools – Query Analyzer, Management Studio, etc.;
- ASP.NET development experience
- Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console;
- Knowledge of cookies and familiar technologies;
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Web Standards.
Education:
High School diploma or GED is required. Associate’s degree in Web Design, Art Studio, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Art Studio, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is highly desirable.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $103,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.
Physical requirements/Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
