Communications Advisor
- $109,901 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Full time, 6 month fixed term opportunity
- Wadawurrung / Geelong based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days a week in office)
About the opportunity
The Strategic Communications team works with WorkSafe’s business units and supports executive leadership by planning and developing engaging materials that translate and communicate objectives, projects and achievements.
As Communications Advisor you will use your strong writing skills to develop engaging material for WorkSafe staff and, when required, external stakeholders. The Communications Advisor provides advice to the Manager, Strategic Communications and works closely with WorkSafe’s other communications teams, business units and program teams. The role will develop communications plans, provide advice and implement communications to staff impacted by change. You will develop communications content in a range of formats including digital posts and stories, videos, presentations, speeches and key messages, and provide communications advice and support. You will also;
- Work with change partners, program managers and project teams to develop communications plans, taking into account the needs of the project and the wider organisational context.
- Apply strong writing skills to develop and implement communications content that is easily understood and relevant to staff.
- Provides communications advice to the Manager, Strategic Communications to ensure timely and relevant communications are delivered in line with WorkSafe’s strategic objectives and operational requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Strategic Communications team to plan, develop and implement communications strategies that support change.

- You will bring strong writing skills with the ability to distil complex issues and present simply to a range of audiences.
- You will have experience working with a broad remit of stakeholders and be able to demonstrate effective stakeholder engagement.
- Strong attention to detail and impeccable organisation and time management skills are a must.
- Experience in change communications is highly desirable, as is a relevant tertiary qualification.
