First Year in Role: Rotational Training Program
- The individual will spend the first 6-12 months working in various departments at NSK to learn about the business (i.e. operations, distribution centre, engineering, supply chain management, etc.) and gain hands on experience across the operation.
- The Program will mainly be located at the NSK Canadian head office located in the GTA. The Program includes job-shadowing with the sales and engineering team in the field (SW Ontario and GTA) as well as training opportunities that may become available at NSK’s Americas Headquarters in Michigan.
- Within the different NSK departments, the candidate will work on projects geared to provide an understanding of the NSK operation and the opportunity for career development at NSK.
- Upon successful completion of the Rotational Program, the individual will be assigned to a Territory Manager sales position in Southwestern Ontario and will be assigned the responsibilities outlined.
Responsibilities of Territory Manager Position:
- Working in conjunction with Engineering and Field Service team, NSK support staff (Inside Sales, Distribution, Supply Chain, etc.) and the Regional Sales Manager to provide commercial support, technical assistance, training, and cost savings alternatives to Distributor partners and their end users within assigned territory.
- Execute high quality, opportunity driven sales calls at NSK Distributors, End Users, and defined Target Accounts.
- Effective time management and territory management to ensure complete coverage of assigned territory and the respective distributor and end user accounts.
- Utilize, Maintain, and Update Sales Activities and Opportunities using Salesforce.com on a regular and timely basis.
- Proactive sales expansion on Strategic Core End User Accounts with all Distributors.
- Active development of new Target Account End User opportunities with all Distributors.
- Proactive and reactive conflict and complaint resolution both external and internal, as required.
- Implement and oversee critical inventory level for Key End Users. This can include obtaining product forecast by part number, from the End User and/or Distributor where required.
- Document cost savings using the NSK Asset Improvement Process (AIP); to be submitted monthly.
- Keep up to date on trends and market developments, new products and any and all competitive information and report on regular basis.
- The Territory Manager position is remote.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or technical degree in business/professional sales, engineering or other related program is preferred (other related programs can include millwright, machinist, etc.)
- 1-3 years of experience in professional sales is preferred but not required.
- Experience selling and/or supporting into Heavy Industries (metals, pulp and paper, mining, other) for Power Transmission (PT) applications.
- Experience selling and supporting heavy industry end users through industrial distributors would be an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (including Word, Excel and Powerpoint). Comfortable using digital tools and platforms for effective communication and territory management.
- Has the following key attributes: self-motivated, organized, and is an effective communicator (written and verbal).
