ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

We’re looking for an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our mission-driven manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll support Engineers in the execution and documentation of protocols and reports, ensuring compliance with manufacturing and quality standards. This role is responsible for performing maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of manufacturing equipment, circuits, components, analytical devices, and laboratory instrumentation. The Technician may also create CAD designs, develop test specifications, and prepare electrical schematics. Additional responsibilities include maintaining required documentation and logs, analyzing results, and preparing technical reports with recommendations to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, GMP practices, and FDA regulations.
  • Maintain good knowledge of current process methods, documentation and procedures.
  • Proactively communicate process problems to management.
  • Assist engineers in product & process qualifications and testing according to specifications.
  • Complete projects in a manner consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Complete and/or create protocol and report documentation with minimal assistance.
  • Perform preventive service and repair to equipment, small machinery and manufacturing process tools.
  • Perform Equipment Installation & Operational Qualification (IOQ) testing according to specifications.
  • Recommend and support process development for prototypes (tools, fixtures, etc.) and pilot production of new products, product changes and enhancements with Manufacturing and Quality Control functions.
  • Assemble prototype devices, test equipment, and tooling according to verbal and/or written specifications.
  • Be able to use the electrical hand tools and various other hand tools located in the Tool Room.
  • Works on technically complex assignments which require sound judgment and initiative, based on engineering principles. Capable of resolving problems and/or making technically rationale recommendations.
  • May determine design changes and tests methods on new assignments and may provide guidance to other non-exempt personnel.
  • Lead moderately complex initiatives in support of Operations/ Engineering projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

 

Education:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED and AA degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years Engineering technician experience, medical device industry preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting moderately complex equipment, preferred.
  • Experience using basic machine shop equipment, preferred.
  • Experience with product or process improvements using tools such as; LEAN, Six-Sigma, DMAIC, etc.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Drafting knowledge, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Equipment Use: Calculator, Computer, Copy/Fax/Scan, Programmable Controller, Automated equipment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CAD or related design software.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The compensation package includes:

  • Base salary of $70,000/yr-$90,000/yr DOE
  • Discretionary bonus
