About the Job
Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Housekeeper / Custodian to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facility. Your attention to detail and commitment to a sanitary environment will directly impact the well-being of our patients, clients, and staff. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team within a fast-paced hospital setting.
Responsibilities
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces
• Provide laundry services to support hospital operations
• Maintain cleanliness in all common areas, including restrooms, lobbies, treatment areas, hallways, and grounds
• Handle trash and waste disposal in accordance with safety protocols
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed
• Report maintenance issues such as broken fixtures, lighting, or equipment to the appropriate personnel
• Follow hospital safety standards and OSHA guidelines for infection control and sanitation
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment including vacuums, mops, and floor care machines
• Keep the outdoor grounds free of litter and pet waste
• Adhere to Mount Laurel Animal Hospital’s Be EPIC core values
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Must be able to work safely and responsibly with cleaning equipment and products
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with infection control and sanitation best practices
• Ability to operate and maintain floor buffers and carpet cleaners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
• This job is physically demanding and requires frequent standing, bending, and lifting
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to safely use step stools and ladders when needed
• Must have sufficient mobility and stamina to work throughout the facility and grounds
