- The person in this role instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth in a state funded program. Assists the Child Development Program Director with development and delivery of childcare curriculum per state requirements. Responsible for the general supervision and management of up to 14 children. Plans, supervises, and implements program curriculum for the site. Structures program to the needs of children with concern for their interests, special talents, and individual style. Ensures the safety and health of students. Responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the classroom. Assists site supervisor with state required reporting, observations, and record keeping. Assists the Child Development Program Director in the preparation and service of snacks. Maintains effective communications with parents. Supervises the Child Development Associate Teacher.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, supervises and implements Adeste program curriculum for the site.
- Structures program to the needs of children with concern for their interests, special talents, and individual style.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and safety in classroom.
- Assists Child Development Program Director in supervising children.
- Keeps records of children’s progress through Desired Results, Portfolios, observations and anecdotal records.
- Assists the Child Development Program Director with the Child’s Developmental Progress Report.
- Assists the Child Development Program Director with the Program Self-Evaluation.
- Assists the Child Development Program Director with the Desired Results Developmental Profile.
- Inputs outcomes in the DRDPTech.
- Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs.
- Maintains snack inventory and provides snacks.
- Assists parents in completing the Adeste parent contract.
- Observe children and document according to DRDP activities.
- Operates program in accordance with Department of Social Services & Community Care Licensing regulations.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Must have a current & valid Child Development Teacher permit issued by the state of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Must have a current 15-hour infant, child and adult CPR certificate. (includes infant child, adult CPR, pediatric first aid, preventative /health/safety –include nutrition), Mandated Reporter training.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have current TB clearance.
