Adjunct Instructor of Nursing Obstetrics

The Division of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is seeking applicants for an adjunct nursing instructor position beginning in Spring 2026 to teach in the BSN program with CCNE accreditation. The undergraduate curriculum of the Pitt School of Nursing combines the latest in clinical theory with traditional nursing values that emphasize holistic patient care and give students the opportunity to combine a strong theoretical base of biological and behavioral sciences with a foundation in the liberal arts. Primary responsibilities include teaching NUR 1050 Nursing Care of Mothers, Newborns & Families.

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree preferred. Master’s degree considered in nursing or a related discipline. 

• Pennsylvania state RN license required. 

• Must possess current clinical knowledge and skills and a passion for participating in the education of the next generation of registered nurses. 

• Must have evidence of proficiency with technology and commitment to innovative and evidence-based nursing education. 

Preference is given to candidates with previous teaching experience at the baccalaureate level and recognition of expertise in the specialty area.
