About the Position
The Managing Senior Director of IT (Information Technology) leads the development and execution of IT strategy, operations, and governance across the Foundation. This role ensures that all systems and processes effectively support organization-wide priorities and evolving needs.
The Senior Director of IT partners closely with stakeholders across the Foundation to guide strategic conversations and decisions on security, data management and governance, and technology infrastructure. The Senior Director of IT also plays an important role in aligning Foundation IT initiatives with OHSU, building strong relationships with university partners to connect Foundation systems into the broader institutional ecosystem.
The Senior Director of IT provides leadership, support, and direct supervision to a cross-functional IT team while fostering an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative team culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
STRATEGIC IT LEADERSHIP
Lead IT strategy, operations, and systems to support Foundation goals.
Oversee enterprise platforms, including the Foundation’s CRM (Affinaquest).
Partner with Foundation and OHSU stakeholders to align and integrate systems.
Manage IT procurement, vendor relationships, and budget.
DATA SECURITY AND GOVERNANCE
Direct data governance strategy and ensure data integrity, accessibility, and security.
Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management programs.
Serve as the Foundation’s Data Security Officer and HIPAA Compliance Officer.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and OHSU ITG policies.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to IT team members.
Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
Set goals, evaluate performance, and promote transparent communication.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and leadership skills:
Strategic Leadership: Able to lead and evolve technology strategy for a complex organization, aligning IT initiatives with institutional goals in a changing environment.
Project Oversight: Skilled at overseeing and delivering multiple high-impact technical projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
Data Governance & Security Expertise: Strong understanding of data security frameworks, compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR), and governance best practices.
Relationship Management: Trusted partner who collaborates across departments, with vendors, and with institutional partners to assess needs, mitigate risks, and deliver solutions.
Technical Communication: Clear communicator who conveys technical concepts, decisions, and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Team Leadership & Development: Experienced in leading, mentoring, and growing a high-performing, diverse IT team.
Commitment to DEI: Actively committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with respect and cultural humility in a multicultural environment.
You should have
10+ years of progressive IT experience in complex organizations, with proven ability to manage teams, systems, and infrastructure at scale.
Experience developing and executing IT roadmaps with focus on system architecture, scalability, and integration.
Hands-on experience with enterprise CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), including configuration, optimization, and user adoption.
Direct experience overseeing data infrastructure and business intelligence environments, including ETL processes and integration; background in data warehousing, analytics, and reporting preferred.
Track record of process improvement, workflow analysis, and leading enterprise system implementations.
Experience leading and mentoring a dynamic team.

Open to fully remote work (depending on experience) or a hybrid schedule with onsite presence for key projects and meetings.
Pay
Salary is dependent on experience. Each salary band is broken into three "steps," which correspond with an employee’s experience/tenure, proficiency and performance in that specific role. New employees will typically start at step I of our pay band to allow for later growth, although more experienced candidates may be eligible to start at step II or III. The OHSU Foundation has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
