We’re seeking a strategic and driven Category Manager, Services to join our Strategic Sourcing team. This role will shape the way we partner, negotiate, and deliver value across the enterprise. You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives, negotiate supplier agreements, and align sourcing strategies with the company’s operational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies for complex projects across Technology, Facilities, Professional Business, and Contract Labor services.
- Lead a team of Sourcing Specialists.
- Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, value creation, and process efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align sourcing initiatives with business objectives.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract development processes.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms while monitoring supplier performance metrics.
- Provide expertise across multiple categories with strong knowledge of market trends, pricing structures, and supplier capabilities.
- Stay informed of market dynamics and propose innovative solutions to improve outcomes.
- Manage multiple high-complexity sourcing initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and quality results.
- Drive alignment across diverse teams and provide stakeholders with regular updates on project progress and results.
- Conduct detailed spend analysis, total cost of ownership modeling, and scenario planning.
- Leverage advanced analytical tools and methodologies to support decision-making and measure sourcing impact.
- 7+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Strong negotiation skills with proven experience running end-to-end RFP/RFI processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in multicultural environments and working with all organizational levels.
- Expertise in analysis, forecasting, problem solving, and quality improvement to drive strategies in dynamic markets.
- Skilled in negotiating contracts, pricing agreements, availability, service, and delivery schedules.
- Ability to make negotiation decisions in high-volatility situations using market insights.
- Experience analyzing and incorporating market data into sourcing strategies.
- Skilled at presenting strategies, plans, and cost impacts to senior leadership.
- Experience measuring and evaluating supplier performance within a Supplier Relationship Management program.
- Contributor to supply chain and procurement policy development.
- Proven track record of implementing and driving organizational change.
- Experience developing category strategies under the strategic sourcing process, including stakeholder management (with exposure to senior executives) and achieving value creation targets.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Preferred: Experience with Oracle, CLM, and reverse auction software.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 3–5 team members, including daily operations, performance management, hiring, issue resolution, and mentoring.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds; regularly stand, talk, and hear while performing duties.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write detailed documents and communicate clearly and persuasively in English.
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Apply common sense to execute instructions, analyze complex situations, identify trends, and evaluate multiple solutions independently.
Work Environment
- Hybrid role (office and remote) with standard business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) but may vary based on business needs.
- Low-noise office environment with occasional field visits
