About this position:
Responsible for assisting the Mortgage Originations Senior Manager and supporting the mortgage origination team through application preparation, customer service, and mortgage origination file management. Provide key support and guidance for customers. Work to meet or exceed established sales goals while meeting credit quality standards as identified in Loan Policy and Company strategic plan. This position has a hybrid optional schedule with a home office of either our Glens Falls or Saratoga Springs Main Office.
Essential Job Functions:
> Manage and respond to customer inquiries in professional and knowledgeable manner to keep mortgage application progressing; assist customers with mortgage application process.
> Enter loans in loan origination system as needed and provide a reviewed disclosure packages within required regulatory timeframes.
> Organize and package mortgage loan applications for Mortgage Originator-Tier1 including interview and application completion, documentation collection and follow up communication with applicant; keep Mortgage Originator informed of application issues needing resolution and assist in resolution process.
> Analyze applicant financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans; transmit quality file for processing and/or underwriting review and manage file to closing; confer with operations team to resolve application problems.
> Track file progress by communicating with applicants and operations team; keep originators informed of application issues which may need resolution.
> Communicate with settlement agents and closers to monitor and assist with file closing process.
> Provide data collection and reporting support to Mortgage Originators and management as requested.
> Assist management with coaching, training and counseling staff to meet department goals and achieve performance standards; encourage continuous improvement for career development.
> Stay current on policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements associated with mortgage lending and mortgage origination specifically.

Education/Certifications:
> Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
> 4 years of mortgage lending, underwriting, real estate, or legal background preferred
> Current NMLS registration or ability to complete NMLS registration
Skills/Knowledge:
> Strong communications skills, both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with customers, co-workers, management and other third parties
> Proven customer service skills; ability to collaborate with Mortgage Originators to provide outstanding support and service to private banking customers
> Solid problem solving, organizational and analytical skills; ability to make informed decisions both independently and as part of a team
> Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook; knowledge of banking related software
> Thorough knowledge of current mortgage lending regulations and mortgage products including Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC or Freddie Mac), Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

> Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for brief periods of time.
> Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and computer mouse and keyboard.
> Ability to lift/move up to 15 lbs.

The salary range for this position is $21.65 - $26.50 per hour commensurate with experience and education.
Additional compensation may be earned through the Company’s annual bonus program, subject to individual and company performance.
