Job Description:
The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Technician supports process improvement initiatives across production and operations. This role assists in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies, while collecting and analyzing performance data to drive efficiency, safety, and quality. The OpEx Technician works hands-on with production teams to identify waste, support standardized work, and implement solutions that improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the deployment of Lean and continuous improvement projects within operations.
- Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and value stream mapping.
- Implement and sustain 5S, visual management, and standardized work practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report progress on improvement projects.
- Provide hands-on support for kaizen events and problem-solving activities.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve processes and eliminate waste.
- Document improvements and update work instructions, checklists, and SOPs as needed.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or process improvement environment.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); data analysis experience a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, process maps, and technical documents.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and movement.
- Able to conduct hands-on process observations and participate in floor-level improvements.
