Position Overview:

This role will also involve working within our agronomy department which offers a wide array of products and services including seed, seed treatment, crop protection and nutrition products, and custom application with ground and drone equipment. This position is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to kickstart their career in the agronomy industry and gain practical knowledge specifically related to operations. 


Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the drone team with drone application, repair, and sales
  • Utilize the drone to monitor customer crop performance to assist sales team
  • Custom treat seed per each producer’s needs in our state-of-the-art seed treatment facility
  • Deliver product to customers such as seed, fertilizer, NH3
  • Assist with yard duties such as operating fertilizer Mix Mate system, filling NH3 tanks, etc. 
  • Utilize technology including but not limited to a tablet and agronomy dispatching application
  • Communicate with customers, team members, management, and office personnel in a professional manner
  • Follow all safety procedures and comply to all agronomy regulations
  • Must maintain applicable DOT licensing and certification
  • Understand & follow WFR’s handbook and procedure
  • Work respectfully with a diverse team of employees

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required. Actively pursing a 2 or 4 year degree in an agricultural field.

Qualifications

  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Detail oriented
  • Great communication
  • Self-starter and driven
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk and be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day, longer during certain seasons
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat, and kneel
  • Capable to do repeated actions
  • Effectively communicate with team members
  • Able to sit and tolerate operating on rugged terrain
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license that passes WFR insurance requirements and ability to obtain a temporary Class B CDL (we will assist intern in obtaining this)

Work Environment

  • Schedule: Must work scheduled days and hours. This internship can run April 15th- August 15th or May 15th- August 15th.   
  • Environment: Indoors and outdoors.   Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Travel: Requirements are limited. Will travel to work sites in company equipment.
