This position is 100% on-site in Indianapolis, IN. Remote or hybrid is not an option for this position.
Scope:
The Senior Recruiter will play a critical role in supporting Heartland Food Products Group’s rapid growth by partnering with Hiring Managers to deliver top talent. This role is responsible for managing the full cycle recruiting process, from sourcing and screening to phone screens, scheduling interviews, and onboarding.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Manage open exempt level requisitions as assigned.
- Source and engage passive candidates using online recruiting tools, networking, and direct outreach.
- Conduct phone screens, coordinate and facilitate interviews, and administer pre-employment assessments.
- Partner with Hiring Managers and Talent Acquisition Team to understand talent needs and develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Support the onboarding process and other HR/recruiting administrative functions as needed.
- Represent Heartland at recruiting events and career fairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience; high-volume manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site organization experience strongly preferred.
- Prior recruiting experience in engineering or technical roles required.
- Experience in food production/manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ADP preferred).
- Strong understanding of direct sourcing strategies with proven success attracting passive candidates.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Strong work ethic with a demonstrated sense of urgency, flexibility, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time
- Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
- Must possess visual acuity to document company records
- Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
