The Gift Processor reports to the Coordinator of Development Operations and plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely entry of all donations into the Raiser’s Edge, which serves as the central record processor for RTS donor giving. This position is responsible for coding gifts, producing detailed reports, preparing and mailing donor acknowledgments, and maintaining up-to-date constituent records with the highest degree of accuracy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and dependable, capable of managing daily gift processing tasks that directly support the work of the Development and Accounting teams. By safeguarding data integrity and ensuring donors receive prompt acknowledgment, this role strengthens donor relationships and supports RTS’s mission with excellence and integrity.
This is an hourly, part-time position, averaging 15–20 hours per week, and is based at the RTS Jackson campus.

Essential Job Functions
- Upon receipt of gift deposit, each gift must be coded with the appropriate Constituent ID, Fund, and Appeal Codes – carefully reviewing for the donor's intended use of the gift.
- Enter each gift into Raiser’s Edge.
- Create Gift Batch Detail and Summary Reports and Pre-Post reports for review, verifying each gift was entered correctly.
- Deliver checks for deposit to the Finance department, ensuring timely and accurate handling of funds.
- Create a Daily Deposit Summary for each day’s campus deposits as well as any online gifts.
- Once the day’s gifts have been approved by the supervisor, then post the batch in Raiser’s Edge.
- Print out all receipts, thank you letters, and envelopes – making sure each campus’ return address is correct.
- Provide designated Institution donor thank you letters to the Chancellor/Chief Development Officer for a handwritten note, or Jackson donors to the Jackson president, following up with each to ensure timely mailing.
- Write tribute acknowledgment cards to In Honor of and In Memory recipients.
- Mail out all receipts and letters within 2-3 business days so the donor may receive their letter within one week of our receipt of their gift.
- Update biographical data in Raiser’s Edge as provided by constituent information on checks, online requests, research, etc.
- Contact automatic credit card or bank draft donors when there is an issue with their account.
- Periodically, research by use of the internet each RTS annuity holder and spouse to find out if any are deceased, then report the findings to Accounting and the supervisor.
- Assist with projects as needed.
- Perform all functions with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support the efficient and effective functioning of the department and organization.
Requirements
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Fast typing skills.
- 10 Key Calculator Skills.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Word, and Excel.
- Good command of the English language, both oral and written.
- High degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Work effectively with others and support organizational goals.
- Demonstrate a positive and productive attitude.
- Several years of experience working in an administrative setting, at least 5 years’ experience preferred.
- Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
Cognitive and Physical Demands
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time while performing repetitive data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail in coding, verifying, and reconciling donor information and gift records.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet daily deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive donor and financial information.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional reaching, bending, or standing in the course of office work.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
