Responsibilities:
- Assess staff training needs and develop appropriate in-service education programs.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new nursing staff.
- Monitor employee competencies and ensure ongoing compliance with required certifications and skills.
- Serve as an educational resource to all nursing personnel.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify opportunities for clinical performance improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of staff training and education.
Stay current on state and federal regulations affecting long-term care and incorporate changes into staff education. - responsible for the planning, conduction, and scheduling of in-services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Employee orientation and in-servicing will be ongoing.
- responsible to coordinate, track, monitor, and report on all required annual trainings.
- Serves as leader and role model of customer service principles and consistently monitors and implements quality improvement efforts during assigned shifts.
- Cooperates with members of all departments within the campus.
Work Hours and Expectations:
- Typical workday hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00PM. Work schedule may include occasional nights, evenings, or weekends for training facilitation purposes.
- Participate regularly in a department on-call rotation; including may be required to report to work in the event of staffing shortages/call outs, emergencies, or as needed.
- Required to work scheduled days regardless of inclement weather conditions.
Requirements
- MA license as a Registered Nurse (R.N.)
- Minimum 5 years nurse experience required (preferably in Long Term Care).
- Minimum 2 years nursing supervisor or Staff Development experience.
- Minimum 2 years electronic health records experience required.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
