Summary/Objective
Designs and implements manufacturing methods and processes that support product quality and quantity goals and objectives as valued by our customers.
Essential Functions
· Maintain and expand knowledge of the beverage dispenser industry and other dispensing technologies within the food and beverage industry, especially valve technology and other technologies relevant to Lancer products and projects.
· Perform analytical modeling using fundamental engineering principles and equations in the field of mechanical engineering (mechanics, fluidics, and thermodynamics) in order to predict dispenser performance with respect to draw capacity, casual drink temperature, cup carbonation, brix stratification, foam height, and other dispenser performance characteristics.
· Design beverage dispensing components and systems using 3D CAD software and create drawings of components and assemblies as required. Design and select components for optimal performance, durability, and cost. Integrate fluidic, mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical systems designed by other engineers into beverage dispensing platforms or other equipment.
· Construct or manage the construction of bills of material for beverage dispensing systems and units for base units and optional configurations.
· Comply with food and electrical safety standards for all designs, including UL, NSF, EC1935, and other domestic and international standards and regulations.
· Build and manage building of prototype systems and dispensers, alone or in cooperation with onsite or offsite manufacturing operations or other engineering personnel.
· Design and/or select test procedures, and collect and analyze test data, to confirm adherence of designs to performance requirements. Compare test results to predictions and improve modeling methods to correlate more closely to actual performance. Write technical reports that detail build parameters, test procedures, instrumentation, data collection, data analysis, and conclusions.
· As needed, lead teams of design and R&D projects, by creating project schedules; delegating some work to other engineers or non-engineer team members; holding team members accountable to deliverables; ensuring design conformity to all requirements; maintaining prototype and design service budgets; coordinating with other departments, customers, suppliers, and management; and other responsibilities as required to ensure successful project completion. Develop and publish project and design documentation in conformity with Lancer policy and procedures.
· Ensure compliance with Lancer best practices and enhance current understandings of best design practice.
· Other duties as needed and assigned
