Title and Classification: Field Technician
Department/Office: District Office IT Department
Terms of Employment: 12 Month, 7:30am-4:00pm (hours may vary)
Supervisor: Director of Technology
Salary Range: $43,000 - $45,000

GENERAL DESCRIPTION Provides customer service related to the district’s technology. Installs, configures and maintains computers at all district locations. Provides installation and support for computers and application software. Performs general upgrades, repair and maintenance for computers and other electronic equipment.
Qualifications: - Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to relate successfully with students, staff, and other school patrons.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong working knowledge of computer operating systems.
- Ability to perform diagnostic examinations and repair of computers.
- Ability to plan and implement scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Experience with LAN systems preferred.
- Knowledge of telecommunications systems.
Essential Job Functions: - Provides customer service related to the district’s technology support.
- Responds to tasks through the district’s work order reporting system.
- Maintains inventory, repair and work order records as directed.
- Assists with coordination of customer needs as directed.
- Assembles and installs new equipment.
- Recommends changes in hardware/software configurations.
- Repairs hardware - desktops and laptops
- Troubleshoots problems with software/hardware.
- Troubleshoots classroom technology - interactive white boards, speakers/amplifiers/microphones
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: - Frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Mobility as needed to visit all district buildings and classrooms.
- Must be able to drive a personal vehicle or to provide transportation suitable to accomplish responsibilities.
