This supervisor level position leads the continual development and implementation of the SSOP & HACCP plans to meet USDA regulations, Case Farms, and customer expectations regarding product safety. Monitor/verify production SSOP/HACCP records. Is proactive in the identification of problems before they develop utilizing SPC tools or other tracking/trending analysis skills as necessary. And is responsible for the management, update, validation, and implementation of ALL Food Safety Programs at the location.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::- Develop programs and procedures to ensure regulatory and Case Farms Food Safety requirements are maintained, communicated, and train all associates prior to implementation.
- Update, Manage, and Maintain the SSOP/HACCP and other pre-requisite programs in an organized and effective manner.
- Audit all SSOP/HACCP records providing timely feedback to management and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain a positive relationship with the USDA and keep up with the appropriate regulations.
- Training and documentation of training of all levels of plant associates focused on product standards and other areas as delegated by management.
- Hands on involvement in all potential Food Safety problems that arise during the shift and developing appropriate solutions and corrective actions/preventative measures for those problems.
- Conduct verification checks to ensure all Food Safety programs are followed and functioning as designed.
- Lead changes, work with operations and ensure salmonella performance is maintained in accordance with FSIS standard.
- Responsible for day-to-day decisions concerning GMP/SSOP/HACCP related issues. Responsible for informing plant management of issues and leading management team towards informed decisions concerning food safety issues.
- Responsible for coaching of direct reports and development of the plant food safety team.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- 2 years of HACCP experience or commensurate experience HACCP Certification, Knowledge of USDA Regulations including GMP/SSOP/HACCP and Labeling.
- Must have experience with Food Safety Third Party Audits.
- Be familiar with HACCP /SSOP requirements to include monitoring and implementing validation processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask while maintaining required timelines.
- Knowledge/experience with Microsoft computer software.
- Requires out-of-town travel and overnight trips occasionally.

- Exposed to climate-controlled office environments, outside conditions, and processing plant conditions.
- Physical ability to travel to other Case Farms complex locations as needed.
- Work in wet and damp environments with temperatures of 34°F to 85°F and at times below 0°F.
- Exposure to Sodium Hydroxide residues (caustic), Ammonia (NH4), Iodine (I), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Chlorine (Cl2).
- Noise levels of 95.1 dB and at times over 3%.
- Continuously standing and walking on slippery concrete, handling product below 0°F and above 100°F, lift cases weighing >70 lb approximately 3 to 5 feet from the floor and carrying approximately 20 feet to inspection station.
- Person(s) will potentially work in these conditions for a period of 8 or more hours daily.
