As a highly motivated Member Consultant, you will demonstrate sales, leadership skills, and an unwavering commitment to member service. You have in-depth knowledge of products and services and are skilled at advising others to prosperity. You will be key to the branch's sales success, serve as an informal mentor to more junior staff, and ensure Seattle Credit Union meets its financial performance goals. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Must be proficient in all Member Representative job functions, duties and responsibilities; will regularly back up Teller role as needed.
- Knowledgeable of all credit union products, services, policies, procedures and channels, including digital banking.
- Must be technologically proficient to effectively support member inquiries received from any engagement channel, including in-person or via phone call, text, chat or email.
- Serve as a consultant to members regarding financial wellness by actively listening and identifying appropriate products, knowledge, and solutions.
- Lead by example in promoting and selling credit union products and services, including loans, deposits, CD’s, and estate planning.
- Participates in resolving member issues and concerns.
- Act as an informal mentor and coach for less seasoned teammates to support high performance and professional development.
- Demonstrates the ability to carry out and occasionally lead projects assigned to them while balancing day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key members and community partners.
- Efficiently produce quality work with varying levels of difficulty and turnaround times.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with all levels of teammates across the organization.
- Consistently meets deadlines and project deliverables.
- Support community education events, including public speaking and presentations related to financial literacy.
- Proactively asks for feedback and coaching; uses input to grow and improve.
- Demonstrates a commitment to SCU Values.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Basic Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of college or equivalent training/experience.
- One (1)+ year of experience in retail banking or credit union.
- This position requires the ability to work at any assigned credit union branch location.
- Proven track record with financial sales products.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the state and federal regulations such as Reg. B, Reg. E, Reg. D, Reg. CC, Reg. Z, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Progressive thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with members.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
- Ability to comprehend and apply credit union policy, procedure and protocols.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in business or related field.
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Proficiency in leading or coaching fellow employees.
- Formally trained in equity and inclusion, or equivalent experience.
- Additional financial institution experience.
Working Conditions:
- This is an in-branch role in the Greater Seattle area of Washington State. We serve members all days of the week except Sunday and limited hours on Saturday.
- Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
- The nature of work may include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
