Description
The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications position is full-time and will be located at the Corporate Office in State College, PA, working primarily Monday through Friday 8am-4p, with flexibility required. Skills of Central PA is a premier health and human services organization. The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing the long-term marketing & communication vision for Skills of Central PA, which promotes its unique position in the marketplace. Responsibilities include planning, development and implementation of all marketing strategies and marketing communications, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services in the area of marketing and communications. Directs all efforts of marketing and communications and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of within the organization.
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing and communications program that will enhance the Skills image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications.
2. Manage the strategic and creative design of the marketing and communications activities and materials including:
a. Website, Social Media
b. Video production
c. Media Relations
3. Responsible for editorial direction, design, production, approval and distribution of all publications.
4. Coordinate the appearance of all print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
5. Coordinate media interest in the organization and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
6. Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to assist various departments and regions in the marketing, communications and positioning of their activities.
7. Regularly conduct relevant market research and monitor trends.
8. Lead special projects as assigned, such as re-branding/logo development, and capital campaign communications plan.
9. Responsible for the achievement of marketing and communications mission, goals and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems, including benchmarks, are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Senior Management Team (SMT) for organizational advancement and external relations.
10. Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing and communications program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
11. Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing and communications function.
12. Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing and communications, and not-for-profit management and governance, and the specific business of the organization and use this information to help the organization operate with initiative and innovation.
14. Provide support to the CEO and SMT, and selected others in public affairs matters and marketing and writing activities.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, and/or public relations or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Willingness to take advantage of professional learning opportunities that will increase the working knowledge and skill base.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations or related field, with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit sector, human services or related field. 10+ years of experience preferred.
