This is an unpaid internship.

The Epidemiology Intern will work within the Performance Management and Quality Improvement Team (PMQI). The intern will be a driving force behind the revamping of the Epidemiology SharePoint site along with the review, categorization, and cataloging of both internal and external data requests. The intern will also be responsible for updating the agency’s Clear Impact Scorecards as a primary focus. This includes crafting narratives related to each scorecard and assisting the data analyst with scorecard updates. Additionally, the intern will serve as a member of the Data Subcommittee, contribute to ongoing data analysis needs, and provide administrative support to the PMQI Manager related to tasks involving quality measures, accreditation, and satisfaction. The intern will report to both the PMQI Manager and the Epidemiologist.

Illustrative Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Complete the data analysis and review of incoming data requests
  • Support and aid in data visualization for historical documentation, data requests, data projects
  • Contribute to the management of the Epidemiology SharePoint site
  • Contribute to the creation of a Data Hub on SharePoint
  • Assist with data training opportunities with CHA staff
  • Audit and catalog historical data requests
  • Update Clear Impact Scorecards and craft supporting narratives
  • Assist the data analyst with scorecard updates
  • Participate in the Data Subcommittee and contribute to ongoing data analysis
  • Provide administrative support to the PMQI Manager on quality measures, accreditation, and satisfaction initiatives

Education/Experience: Student pursuing Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology, Population Health Analytics, or Life Sciences 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

  • Exemplary oral, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Detail oriented
  • Skill in working with computer software (databases, spreadsheets, presentations, documents) with the ability to effectively maintain records, prepare reports and draft email correspondence
  • Experience with SharePoint is a plus
